Final Assignment Finished
so now i’m almost upon study time. BUT, unlike other semesters i only have to prepare myself for 3 exams as opposed to the regular 4. (Thank GOD for the project units!)
Well, it looks like i will be trialing a HostRadius hosting package for a bit, if it goes well i’ll extend it (though truth be known, you don’t get any sort of bonus or discount for buying a year of the package.. well, as far as I can tell) .. but i do have a question for all you peoples out there with the “real” hosting. Some packages claim you can have multiple domains (not sub-domains, but full TLD’s?) pointing to your hosting, but does that mean that multiple domains point to the SAME content, or you can basically have a completely different site (and domain) in the same “hosting package” ?
Hrms.. that sounds pretty confusing, but hopefully you guys’ll get the gist.
Thank you Shell for the great graphic!

On a sadder note. Today is the 6th Anniversary of Jeff Buckley’s death. His music shall live on forever. (Well, at least in my collection of music)
.. Lastly. This entry is dedicated to elektrified.org.. and I hope that Jamye finds true happiness in whatever it is she’ll be doing with her free-time now. G’luck Jamye!..
We’ll Miss You!

excitement. me? Yes!
Hahahtehehehehehaheh.. so yeh. Melange might (as far as i can tell this is definite) be doing a show with Grandcentral, The Fergusons and End Of Fashion. And, i’m so god-damned excited about it!. I’ve been a fan of the GC boys for fucking years (went to high-school with 3 of the 4) .. and since i’ve been in a band i’ve wanted to play with them.. and now we are!..
WOOT..
Alsso, as soon as the Uni semester ends i’m likely to be getting some *real* hosting, I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts or comments on who to go with. ATM i’m swinging towards the $4US/Month Hostradius shared hosting deal (i won’t even use 1/10th of the storage and there’s no way i’ll go near the bandwidth) .. but compared to ANY sorta hosting available in AU.. this seems the way to go!

new window etiquette and boogle
Orite.. i’m slowly getting through my list of updates i want to .. well update. (First thing i did was finally got my booottom into gear and put links up for Jina, Angela, and Jamye)
So while on the topic of plugging/linking/networking (thanks michelle) .. I was just after everyones thought on when new windows should automatically pop up? In the beginning i felt that for links to off-site references the pages should pop up in new windows, but then i changed my mind deciding that if a visitor wanted a new window they can open the link to a new window themselves. Then i changed my whole POV and decided that if i was linking to a large page, or a large image perhaps, have it open in a seperate window. Once again, like the 1st time, i changed back to the fact that i feel the person browsing your site should have control.
Another thing to consider is, at-the-moment about 95%+ of the internet is browsing via MS‘ Internet Explorer browser, which doesn’t support tabbed-browsing (as mozilla/netscape/etc/etc does) .. and I have a feeling that IE will have to follow suite eventually, because (even though i don’t use it) tabbed-windows in web-browsers is one of the finer innovations to the web-market since the coming of HTML. As soon as the main-stream web-clientele start using tabbed-browsing, the entire “new window” system will have to change, if you have the choice of having a new tab or a new window, most people go for the new tab (Just to keep the desktop so much more uncluttered, yet still have control over the number of pages u can see) </End Unstructured Ramble>
So anyway.. what do you guys think is the correct way to handle new windows? Never do it? Always do it? Only for links to off-site pages?
Oh yeah. I hope everyone’s heard about the fact that google might be making a “blog” section to their search functionality? (slashdot entry) .. i don’t think they’ll be removing us (people who have blogs duh) from the main search engine though (*whew*)

trackback is wonderful.. but where are you?
a whilst back on Scriptgoddess they discussed trackback. .. Well actually they didn’t, they pointed us readers to a site which explained it.. in all it’s glory (though mainly focussed on the MT users amongst us)
AND thank god they did.. because it means i don’t have to try. .. and the reason i bring this up, is because i don’t think enough people use it (like what jeff said.. whom i actually found from a trackback!) .. especially the ppl who have blogs who i read (come on people)..
so without further stalling.. go read Trackback Explanation from MT.org.
on another note, (actually, i’m not sure if this applies to anyone, cos i’m not sure if anyone who would read this would watch the australian big brother. Not that *I* do!) Grettle Killen (the host) is the most annoying personality on australian tv, and i think it’s a shame. I don’t know if it’s her, or if it’s the person the network told her to be like.. but whoever this person is, i seriously want to strangle her… like, good ol’-fashion strangling..
anyway.. for a good laugh head over to shell’s and read her 8th of May ‘03 entry (8:46am) entry!.. hahaha.. (naturally, if she had trackback.. i would’ve trackbacked her by now!)

my family
just got back from a family doo. dads family that is, which makes it all very odd. Since mum + dad did their little dance of departure, i kind of ceased to see dads family as family anymore, and whenever i saw them it was always uncomfortable, for the most part i didn’t really care (what an ass i am). Anyway.. there were always a few people i did miss, 2 of my cousins (these guys lived in our house when i was a wee-lil tucker).. and a couple of my uncles etc.. so one of the cousins used to be a hell rocker. We’re talking guitarist for the most successful non-vox rock band in Perth. (By Far!).. anyway.. now he’s a graphic designer.. and that’s where i’m passing the plug tonight. to a relative. His site is obviously pro so the content isn’t there for humour/to score chicks/any other reason to have a site ;).. but the layout is great (imho)..
the place we had dinner tonight was shocking.. small.. bad food.. bad service (u know the drill)
and i get home and somehow i’m smelling of vomit :(

busy and birthday party stuff
a lot has happened since last post
friday i had my 21st. What a night it was. The whole day i was stressed and worried that there weren’t going to be enough people, or that there was going to be too many people, or that people weren’t going to enjoy themselves. But somehow thanks obviously to some divine power, the numbers were perfect, and as far as i can tell, everyone had a GREAT time. All day mum and my sisters (excl the sis in Paris) spent cleaning and reorganising the house, to allow more movement and freedom, in the process my room got completely rearranged. (it’s odd to be sitting in a room that i’ve known for a while now, yet everything feel so odd and new, i still feel too scared to touch things) Also during this time, everyone was doing crazy cooking stuff. Enough food to feed an army.
So, the party itself. I had my close friends and my close family-people and friends. The numbers were perfect, and plenty o beer (and assorted other bubbly alcohol’s) were consumed! It was good to see a ton of family-friends i hadn’t seen in ages. It was even greater to sit down and drink and talk with all my close best friends. I got heaps of loot (which i shan’t talk about tonight because i’m quite the tired one) ..
One of the many highlights of the evening? Em (in secrecy naturally) compiled a DVD with a slideshow full of pictures of me from all stages of my life with a running jazz tune underneath. Everyone went inside and we put the DVD on the telly, and as all these crazy pictures of me and my past popped there were laughs and guffaw’s and sighs and cute lil “awws” coming from everyone watching… God i love her so much. It was such a nice lil present.. she’s my special kitty.
Anyway, can’t just post and not link to something.. so check out this guys posters. (link from /.)
oh and ps: the queue for spanking shall either begin here, or over @ shell’s

| Level 2 (Lustful) | Very High |
| Level 3 (Gluttonous) | Moderate |
| Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) | Very High |
| Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) | Very High |
| Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics) | Moderate |
| Level 7 (Violent) | High |
