something for kate, 28 days later
well.. on one of those spur of the moment things, i’m off to see Something For Kate tonight at the Lookout with Daev’s girlfriend nic and a mate of hers..
I must admit i’m prettty damn excited. Last time something for kate did some shows here in perth i didn’t know about them.. and then i went to look up when they were coming here, i learnt that they *were* here.. last week.. so this time i’m not missing them
It’s funny, i don’t have any albums.. i don’t know all the songs, but of the songs i’ve heard (and have) i REALLY enjoy them, so i must admit i’m pretty excited about tonight. Besides that i might get to down some piss too (which is always fun.. or so i’ve been told)
In other news saw 28 days later a couple of nights back. Wasn’t expecting much but was very very pleasantly surprised. Excellent movie, really cool cinematography, gives the whole realism of the film a real boost. Also choosing to have no huge-name-actors in it helped, making it feel much more real. Scary shit!
Anyway.. yep.

isn’t it ironic II
right.. so as my Luck would have it.. on my 1 week where i don’t have lecture’s or tutes, i get SICK!..
I’ve spent most of yesturday and today just rugged up in my bed or on the couch. Intermittently reading bits of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix .. which i’m finding “okay”. (If only Harry wasn’t such a whining BITCH! this time round)
.. I’m also starting to worry about my uni work. Whilst this is a week away from lectures and such, all the staff insist on setting due-dates for assessments and assignments the week after the holiday.
Em was great today though, she dropped in with lunch from Hans Cafe, then proceeded to snuggle up with me in bed and pamper me til i fell asleep. Waking sometime later to somehow put the vid of The Sixth Sense on and proceed to make myself sandwiches for dinner!
Anyway.. before i go, an interesting Article which does make (imho?) the activities of the music industry seem quite a bit out of hand .. i think you’d have to agree. The music industry should take a leaf out of the movie industry book and charge more competitively instead of sueing everyone. .. And because the US has done this, i’m hoping that the aussie equivalent decides to retract their dismissal of dropping prices, because i know for a fact, if i can get a DVD for $30 and a CD for $30(or free).. which way i’m going to go.

gone but not forgotten
yeh yeh. i know i’ve been slack!
But, in all actuality i have also been fairly busy during the times of slackness. Items of stuff that i have .. done include: cooking, cleaning kitchen (all the time, incl dishes), helping daev shift his shit in here, helping daev setup his vaio on the wireless net, rehersing, finshing and handing in assignments, doing 2 different group projects and starting a 3rd, etc etc etc.
It’s been a fairly crazy week, one of the highlights would definately be the interview that byron did yesturday for MurdochFM (which is a local radio station run out of the Murdoch university).. we went in there a few fridays ago (link) and recorded one of our newer songs called “you you me us“.. anyway, bj behaved himself nicely. Which was my biggest worry, that he’d get on the radio and be mental, but he was like in this perfect stasis of being the odd-guy we know + love, and just a friendly girl-next-door type guy (hehe)..i also have to admit that when he said on-air that daev+i were partners it made me laugh like i haven’t laughed in weeks!.. in fact.. i still have un-heard chortles that will emerge occasionally just thinking about it!
So.. what do i have to say. well.. shells moved over to a new domain (see her in action @ syphonic.net) .. and everyone seems to have new layouts or new *things* just round the corner. on the inclusive list are: michelle @ echoica.net, angela @ silencia.net, and jina @ azaliea-skye.net. (oh, and don’t forget john @ stealing-sunday.org don’t forget..don’tforget)
This ends this formal entry.. the “extended” bit shall be used to discuss this pasta recipe that i cooked up during the week (w/ daev).. so.. for your safety, don’t continue reading unless your a trained professional, and/or have medical aid nearby!

pastalicious
ahhh .. well as you can see my wound is getting better (ouch) .. anyway.. i shouldn’t be blogging because not a lot has happened and i haven’t really got anything interesting to talk about, except this..
for quite a while i’ve had this *urge* to make pasta. In my head i’ve had this sea of pasta-recipes, this with this and that with that, a touch of chilli and sprinkle of finely chopped, fresh basil etc etc etc.. anyway.. i never go through with these plans/recipes. Either i’m lazy, or mum does the cooking.. (because she does).. anyway.. because mums moving to the country i’ll have to start enacting these pasta fantasies! So last night i had a trial run.. it was okay, to say the least.. and as i see it, things can ONLY get better.
Christian’s Italian Sausage + Mushroom Pasta:
Ingredients: Fettucinni, Italian Sausage (the soft one.. not the hard one ;P), Button Mushrooms, Black Olives, Tomato-Sauce-Base, Oil, Salt+Pepper, diced onion
Method:
Cook the pasta in boiling water
Oil a pan, and cook the sausages + onion
When sausage is cooked, add the mushrooms + black olives, cook for longer
Add the Tomato Base.. and let simmer + thicken..
Season where appropriate
Voila.. combine and there you have it..
Unfortunately, if you cook it exactly like i do.. you might find it a bit flavourless.. i possibly didn’t cook enough mushrooms.. or let them cook enough (or in enough oil).. what i definately forgot was garlic.. which usually gives that nice tang.. and chilli.. cos i like finely chopped chilli.. but i mean.. it’s not like i *really* know what i’m doing.. so follow the recipe as you see fit..
*nb: i take no responsibility if you choose to follow said recipe.. and die.

deadly milkshake
hahaha.. great new layout over at portal.echoica.net .. if you get there quick you’ll see my associated camstill ;)
Anyway.. just a quick update to talk about this monster milkshake i just made.. and i can feel my stomach already complain about. Usually when i have lunch at home i’ll make myself a really shitty sandwich, like cheese+ham or just like toast (breakfast lunch).. but sometimes we have these delux single-serve cans of tuna.. and i know most people hate tuna, but some of these single-serve tuna tins are flavoured (like tomato+basil, soy+lemon etc) and they are so delicious, so i have one of these on toast. So anyway, i had one of these for lunch, then proceeded to make the most amazing milkshake ever (well, it was okay.. but cos my urge for milkshake was so great, it made the final product excellent).. the ingrediants are as follows: milk, cookies+cream ice-cream, milo, splash of honey, splash of maple syrup… *dies*
quick topic change before i salivate myself to death .. we all hate spam right? .. i’ll take your silence as a unanimous yes! .. anyway.. there’s a nifty article over at InternetNews.com (Article) about how with the huge upsurgence of spam, most people are reluctant to join onto internet based news-lists.. making the assumption that their email is automagically sent off to all the evil spam-bots out there in the big-bad-net.. and that the solution to this problem is RSS.. yup. That nifty XML based syndacation thing, whereby instead of you getting sent email, you just grab the rss/rdf/xml file whenever you want and the content is there voila.. what’s great about it all is that this tech has been around for a while.. haven’t you ever wondered what happens if you click on my rss link ? .. ahh god-bless you MoveableType!
