version x
orite.. finally finished version 10 .. after .. what must be about a month of slow updates.
anyway.. no time to chat, gotta go make out with Em.. anyway.. it’s all updated.. except the main content pages (me, you, links etc)
what you will hopefully find fun is the fact that those navi-boxes on the left can be shaded and moved around .. and eventually a couple of them will be able to be popped onto their own lil windows.
*pant*

my tag’s telling me to ask you out
.. sorry for not posting in a bit. especially because i *do* have a lot of stuff to talk about.. but i’m way to high-strung atm to be able to talk about it.. so your going to have to wait.
new layout should be soon.
couple of things you guys should check out.
Why Personal Websites Matter .. this article doesn’t go into too much depth, but it’s a quick interesting read regardless.
Smart Tags .. hahaha.. how very geek. It’s a bit like those funny relationship/tamagotchi-style things that i think you can get in japan, where if ur lil wireless devices detects another one nearby and both are set to be compatible, they both beep at each other so you can meet up with a perfect stranger and have sex with them… or something.
Cybersex .. hahaha.. this link is hilarious!.. and god how did i laugh!

two-thirds is not all the way
2 down and 1 to go.
the hard exam on monday went okay, must’ve regurgitated about 20 pages of stuff .. it was the best feeling in the world walking out of that room, i couldn’t wipe the grin off my face and smiled all the way home.
the 2nd hardest exam on tuesday went good too, it was also the first 40°C day we’ve had in ages.. (which is 104°F .. thanks google.) .. and even now (wed) it’s still steaming hot. I have all this stuff i have to go and do but i’m scared to step outside of my room (got that lil personal aircon unit which keeps my room to a semi-reasonable temperature) ..
Anyway, i’ve mentioned the Audiopad in the past, and recently slashdot posted another article, about this guy who has been using it for other purposes.. cool lil movie available over here ..
anyway, i have to thank Sensiti for commenting on my last entry about the wall of ice .. which was actually a heat haze! .. hahah.. i blame Firebird for not showing my alt-tags!..
Hope everyone is having a great day!
ps. i apologise for the livecam that’s been on recently, i find when i study i turn it on.. i don’t really know why.. also in a scarey other coincidence i’ve found i’ve stopped shaving during these exams.. so am getting all beardy.. yes, i’m scared too!…
pps. Michelle looks to be coming back soon !! *weeee*

yay for siblings
today i felt like procrastinating in a slightly more productive manner. my week has been full of going to sleep around 12-1, waking up at about 7.30, waking-waking up til about 9.30 - this process includes : reading news sites, reading blogs, reading lj, scavanging for new reading material - .. having a shower and then studying all day .. breaks on and off, repeat.
but this morning i think i’m going to post, because i realise i should post .. but i haven’t.
My eldest sister was in Perth this past 6ish days for my second-eldest sister’s 30th. It was good to see my eldest sister (helene) .. she’s a real laugh and provides me with such a big sigh of relief. She’s finishing up some studies over in melbourne so i never get to see her (once / twice / 3 times a year max) .. we did lots of sibling things, the 4 of us (that’s me and 3 sisters btw) did lunch, and had dinner and stuff, and it was GREAT! I don’t think we’d ever done anything like that before so it was interesting to see how a lot of fairly deep-seeded family issues could be expunged, especially when the parent-figures were not hovering around. Anyway, she got me sorta curious into RMIT’s Computer Science Honours program so I think I’ll email the honours supervisor when i can calm my weak and timid nerves.
Anyway, my hardest exam is this coming monday, my 2nd hardest exam is the tuesday after, then my easiest exam is the wednesday the week after. So with all the hardcore studying i’ve been performing on the 1st exam i think things will hopefully be *okay* ..
I think michelle (LJ) will hopefully be getting some sort of computer back soon, and to tell you the truth, i cannot wait. For some reason i continue to check her splash page, even though it’s just a link to her LJ, in the hope that somehow she’s fixed it all already!
I leave you with these fruits:
Wall of Ice - stumbled on this great photoblog, which included this bizarre photo (the top pic) .. i have NO idea what it is, but whatever it is .. it is one of the more weird-slash-amazing things i have ever seen. Explanations anyone ?
The Clink - a local nightclub, which also happens to boast the worlds worst internet advertising scheme ever seen by the human eye. I must warn you, this site is seriously hideous. The reason i mention it is it’s the place daev works (or somehow has been brainwashed into performing remedial tasks til the wee hours of the morning)
Australia’s like double-you tee eff? - weird ass flash movie within. .. it’s weird orite ?.. that is all!

Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash
Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash
URL: Amazon Link
Blurb: In Reality, the Burbclaves are miniature nation states, MetaCops take major credit cards and the CosaNostra controls the pizza franchise. Freelance hacker and delivery boy Hiro Protagonist shares a U-Stor-It in LA with his two swords and a Ukrainian grunge metal guitarist. On the Street he’s one of the elite who wrote the protocols of the Metaverse, where custom avatars strut and advertising space sells by the pixel. The street is much sharper than reality and less dangerous - until an out-of-focus lowlife starts handing out free samples of Snow Crash…
Why: Huge stephenson fan. Loved cryptonimicon, so bought this ages ago before knowing about it. This is the 2nd time i’ve read it.. still love it.
Thoughts: To say this is simply a sci-fi or a cyber-punk novel just isn’t enough. There’s so much gloriious stuff that happens in here that it spins your head. Being the 2nd time i’ve read it, i’ve found it’s sort of strange because i don’t really recall much of the deeper issues in the novel, like the Tower of Babel, Asherah , the Me and other various almost non-fiction entity sub-plots.. but having now consumed this novel for the 2nd time these sub-story-issues are still swimming around in my brain, and boy is this stuff cool! An ancient universal language that every human has deeply embedded in their brain, mega-corporations, a GREAT main-character (a ninja-sword carrying hacker .. ) , Fanatic religious issues, crazy-assed harpoon carrying skateboarders! It’s amazing. This book is 100% guaranteed to please you if you like any William Gibson stuff.. so if you have not read this, do it now. My only issue i found was that in the end the future of the protagonist is left very open-ended, and I felt this lack of conclusion was pretty sucky.. but I suppose you can’t have it all. 6 stars.
